Louisville, KY (June 28, 2012) – The residents of Willard Healthcare Center are packing their belongings in preparation for a move that they have been eagerly anticipating since last year. With today’s opening of The Willows at Willard (located on the grounds of Mercy Willard Hospital), the moving date is closer than ever. While the residents’ journey may be short in distance, the difference in their new home is immeasurable.
The Willows at Willard offers a full continuum of senior living and related health care services, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and assisted living; all offered in a homelike setting that features an abundance of private rooms with private baths, chef-prepared meals, and services specially tailored to meet residents’ individual preferences. The Willows replaces Willard Healthcare Center, which Trilogy Health Services acquired in 2005. It is the company’s 71st location. The Willows at Willard is located at 1050 Neal Zick Road.
According to Randall Bufford, President and CEO of Trilogy, “We were excited to have the opportunity to serve the seniors in the Willard area when we first purchased Willard Healthcare Center in 2005. We are even more enthusiastic today to be able to offer these services in our ‘Town Square’ model community. Our new location on the grounds of Mercy Willard Hospital will offer a very convenient and comprehensive health care solution for area seniors.”
“Mercy Willard Hospital is looking forward to having Trilogy Health Services and The Willows at Willard as our neighbors, as well as our first partner in creating our new health campus,” commented Lynn Detterman, President & CEO of Mercy Willard Hospital.
The Willows at Willard offers primarily private resident suites equipped with private baths and walk-in showers. The therapy gym boasts state-of-the-art equipment, and nurses’ stations and information desks are located throughout the campus, allowing caregivers to be more accessible to their residents.
“I’m looking forward to this move,” commented Sandy Thomas, whose mother is currently a resident at Willard Healthcare Center. “I’ve been to Trilogy’s Bellevue, Ohio location, and I’m certain The Willows at Willard will be as wonderful. I’m sure my mother will be very excited about her new setting. This is a plus, plus, plus for my mom, the other residents and the Willard community.”
Other differences emphasize the homelike feeling created by Trilogy’s Town Square floor plan. Sunlight streaming in from windows in the Health Center cupola, and the clock tower, plants and benches in the center of the Town Square are just a few small examples of the common areas that create a sense of community at The Willows. Around the Square, living rooms, a bistro, and a sunroom offer places to sit and visit, bake a batch of cookies, play a game of pool or enjoy a moment’s relaxation. Watercolor painting, gardening, foreign language classes and discussion of current events are just a few choices on the day’s agenda. Private resident suites, with private baths, line the halls that are each named based on local landmarks and favorites.
“Our commitment to a servant leadership culture and our dedication to providing exceptional customer service that exceeds our customers’ expectations are the cornerstones of Trilogy’s operating philosophy,” Bufford continued. “When you have great services, delivered by a dedicated and compassionate team of caregivers, the result is a senior living experience that allows our residents to live truly meaningful lives. From staff engagement and our focus on resident personal preferences, to the local flavors on our menus, and even the names given to our different residential hallways – everything at a Trilogy campus is focused on our customers’ preferences and helping them have strong social connections, and engagement and purpose, while also providing options for clinical care.”
“We are looking forward to serving our current residents, as well as the new residents we’ll be welcoming shortly, in our new campus. Our staff is very excited for the move as well. While our approach to delivering great resident care won’t change, it will be wonderful to deliver care in such an incredible campus,” said Eric Hutchins, Executive Director of The Willows. “We invite members of the community to stop by to tour our campus and meet our campus team members.”
