I’ve moved my mother in The Lakes of Monclova. I’m comfortable with it. The people that are working there have done a fantastic job. So far, I’m pretty pleased with it. The rooms are good size. They have good size bathrooms with their own shower. They keep them very clean. So far, I’m very pleased with it.
Caring and attentive staff, always available to answer questions or solve any issues. The chocolate chip cookies made by there chef are amazing! Fun activities during the week. Theme dinners and bingo. Great place to work all around
The staff here is the best.
This place is great and kind I would put my love one in this nursing home it is very clean and organized staff is very nice and welcoming
The Lakes of Monclova is the best place to belong, as an employee, resident, and family member. The staff have a passion for providing the best care for the residents and for serving their families. The facility is clean, beautiful, and very well maintained. The food is freshly made from the kitchen, and they provide a restaurant style dining experience. I highly recommend this campus for your loved one needing additional care as there saying still remains true: it’s where family comes to live.
This place is relatively new, very clean, pretty decent atmosphere, the staff seem like they have a good handle on things, I have yet to see anything that jumps out at me that says hey I would not want my family here. All in all its a very decent place, its in a very good part of town, and the country type atmosphere is very refreshing for a nursing home.
We moved my mom to The Lakes last May, and it was OK and accomodating.
Great Monclova rehab facility! Very clean..friendly staff..very helpful!!
Absolutely the cleanest and most homelike in the area. Courteous and professional staff. Would be anyone’s first choice.
I toured The Lakes of Monclova for my dad, and I was very, very impressed with them. Their assisted living director showed me around the assisted living. I went through that, and I went to the memory care building. Out there in the memory care building, the person who was in charge was just really phenomenal. She has a great idea and a great plan for the residents. She considers everything – their rhythm and their routines. She schedules everything according to how the residents respond during the day and what their rhythms are. I can’t say enough about the memory care side of things. When I walked in, it was right around noon and I said, “Oh, something smells really good.” and she said, “Yes, that’s exactly what we try to do. We put something in the oven so that they can smell it.” All the residents were coming out of their rooms because they could smell the food. They knew that it was mealtime. It was great. What better way to get them out as opposed to going in and dragging them out? She just has a really good grasp on what kinds of activities to do when. It’s homey, but it’s also that they’re being observed. You get the feeling that it’s not too big, so that they can’t wander off somewhere where they’re not seen. It made me feel comfortable that there were enough people around if something were to happen. Something else that I notice is that the residents were very quiet. They weren’t agitated, weren’t upset, and weren’t yelling. I’ve seen different places where memory care can be very chaotic, and this was not what I saw here. I’m pretty sure that’s where we’ll end up, but I want mom to take a look, too. When I was there smelling the food, I was watching the people come up. Obviously they were anxious to eat, which doesn’t always happen.
I’ve been appreciative of The Lakes of Monclova’s good care for my husband. Most of the staff are very willing to answer questions, and if my husband requires something special, they listen and do what they can. All of the areas are very kept up and very clean. They’re just getting into the activities, but what’s interesting is because of COVID, they would point in the direction of everybody’s TV and they would play bingo in their rooms. They have a happy hour on Fridays; they’re starting to pick up on their activities so they can play the different games and things that people can participate in. The food is good; my husband doesn’t dislike their food. Overall, I think they’re a good facility and I think they understand the needs of their residents. We’ve been to a few others before, and I like this the best.
